How to choose your saltwater fish tank

The best way to choose your saltwater fish tank is to decide how many fish and what type of fish you wish to have in your fish tank.

You should allow one inch of fish for every four gallons of water for the first six months, and then you can increase the number of fish to one inch per two gallons of water gradually.

As an example, you can choose for a 40-gallon saltwater fish tank for the first six months:

  • 1 3-inch angel fish
  • 2 1-inch tang
  • 1 2-inch clownfish
  • 1 1-inch Triggerfish
  • 2 1-inch Mollies

You should always remember to pay attention to this rule as you fish are going to grow and they need enough water to survive.
